IDS staff have developed remote-sensing data processing systems which operate 24/7 and serve a large community of scientists, providing them with global data products and data services. We developed and maintain an operational system from which climatologists retrieve global, gridded data products for the MODIS and AIRS instruments.
These functions include hypothesis verification, observations and their processing, modeling and simulation, visualization and delivery of data products. We perform mission planning, instrument engineering, ground system design, data ingest and archiving, data analysis, data modeling, data distribution, mapping and end user support.
Our phenology products such as the habitat suitability maps enable National Park Service personnel to plan their field campaigns.
